Slough Safeguarding Children

Building the LSCB annual report

This is the supplementary information for the annual report 17/18

Why is contact information  important for the LSCB?

Research indicates that people contact social care for advice, support and to make formal child protection and child in need referrals. A workforce competent in the application of professional judgement to make decisions about the level of need will make appropriate high quality referrals. A mature early help system will provide support to professionals to help children who do not meet the criteria for formal social care interventions. A robust Threshold document and an established early help system will ensure that the volume of contacts and business at the front door enables swift decision making and screening so that the right children get the right help at the right time
